A local family has reached out to the City of Irvine requesting assistance. They are seeking 100 cards for their father’s, Captain Frank Wendzel, 100th birthday on June 14th. Frank was a former Irvine resident & now lives in assisted living.
Frank has been in quarantine for over 90 days. Window visits only. He was a WW2 USAAF Captain, flew in Operation Crossroads in 1946, worked on the Atlas, Apollo, and with the Mercury 7 astronauts. His life history is attached for anyone wishing to learn more about this amazing man.
