Action Taken: Rafi is an electronics expert and developed many advanced products during his professional career. His career began while serving in the Israeli Air Force and was called upon to create countermeasures against enemy fighters.

Rafi Rahamim served in the Israeli Air Force in the 1960s, in a non-combat, non-flying role as an electronics expert. His specialty was radars and electronic countermeasures.

An Iraqi defector flew a MiG-21 to Israel in 1966. Rafi was taken to an air base, to study its capabilities, and to develop electronic devices to help Israeli planes defeat them. His design was installed in some of the best Israeli fighters, (several of which he personally installed). It’s quite possible that in the Six-Day War (1967), his device contributed to the Israeli forces domination of the airspace.

After completing his military service, Rafi went on to a successful career in the electronics industry. His achievements included inventing advanced products, earning him many accolades, including the award of 28 U.S. patents.

Join us to hear a first-hand account of First Sergeant Rahamim’s professional achievements both in and out of the service.
