FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

US Navy’s Blue Angels to Fly Over Los Angeles Sunday

Los Angeles residents in some areas will be treated to a brief flyover of the U.S. Navy’s elite Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Team on Sunday, September 22 between 6:00PM to 7:00 PM as they do an orientation tour over the City. The tour will take about 20 minutes and will be considerate of noise sensitive areas.

The planned route is to enter the San Fernando Valley from the northwest to Burbank Airport, Dodger Stadium, circle Downtown LA to the Observatory and the Hollywood sign, across LAX and down to the Harbor over the battleship USS Iowa. Residents in nearby areas should be able to see them from open areas.

The Blue Angels will be transitioning from their Central Valley show this weekend and heading to San Diego for their next performance. For more details on show locations, please visit www.blueangels.navy.mil.

The special Blue Angels flyover comes on the heels of a highly successful LA Fleet Week®, the largest military and veterans’ event in the City of Los Angeles. Over 1,200 active service members from the US Navy, US Marine Corps and US Coast Guard visited during the week-long event, interacting with hundreds of thousands of Angelinos and out-of-area visitors. LA Fleet Week® featured ship tours, static displays, region-wide performances by the US Navy Band and service members visits and activities across Southern California, including Children’s Hospital, Habitat for Humanity and the Saint Francis Center. LA Fleet Week® 2020 is scheduled for September 1 – 7.
